You open your gift but what do you see?
Some little note with ink scribed in green
It reads 'to fly is such a beautiful thing'
...to soar through the skies and hear the angels sing'
You read the note aloud and hear an echoing chime
For the note was a spell of something beautifully sublime
A light spouts fourth from the blades of your back
Forming magnificent wings; feathers white and black
You rise to the far edges of the sunlit skies
And smile at the world while in effortless flight
Enjoy your gift as you glide down to the beach
And see wings reflected in the dew that's the sea
